Sufficiently advanced magic
After becoming ill during a trip to Ecuador, DARPA researcher Chris Roussi seeks medical advice from a local expert: a shaman.
“Here I am, an engineer-scientist, and here's this educated man spouting the worst kind of fuzzy thinking, superstitious claptrap. I look him in the eye and I say: OK!”
Christopher Roussi
Senior Research Scientist
Chris has been involved in both hardware and software development applied to scientific research, since 1979. His expertise includes numerical analysis, digital signal processing, imaging radar, and image processing. Right now, he's a staff researcher at Michigan Tech University. He lives in Kalamazoo, and works in Ann Arbor, driving between them daily. When he's not building sensors, programming computers, or driving, he spends his time traveling outside the U.S., reading, taking pictures, fusing glass, and hoisting glasses with friends.
