Jesse Hildebrand is the founder of Science Literacy Week, a Canada wide celebration of science that grew from 4 events in 2014 to over 800 events in 100 cities coast to coast in 2017 (scienceliteracy.ca). The week is all about providing a chance for all the groups that do science outreach to join forces in a big blitz of activity meant to highlight the great work they do year round. This can mean everything from public talks and stargazing nights to explosions and beaver dissections -- preferably not those last two at the same time. It largely takes place through Canada’s wide public library system, which showcase excellent science books and serve as venues for events.
Jesse suffers from an excess of personality, watches too many Blue Jays games for his own good, and can enter into a spirited debate on the merits of the Marvel films.
