We’re thrilled to be teaming up with Imperial College London to be part of their first Imperial Lates of the season all about the future of food!

Join us on Thursday, November 9th for four true, personal stories about science, food, and what we eat.

Hosted by Richard Kemeny and Michaela Agapiou.

This event is free to attend. Doors to Imperial Lates open at 6pm, and show starts at 7:00pm.

All of the spaces are wheelchair accessible, as are the entrance and toilets. There are lifts to any activities on other levels. If you have any specific needs, please don't hesitate to get in touch: lates@imperial.ac.uk.

Jenny Kleeman is a journalist, broadcaster and author. She writes for the Guardian, the Sunday Times and The New Statesman and makes radio and podcasts for the BBC and the Times. Her latest series for BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds, The Gift, tells the story of the remarkable truths that emerge when people take at-home DNA tests. On television, Jenny has reported for BBC One's Panorama, Channel 4's Dispatches and VICE News Tonight on HBO, as well as making 13 films from across the globe for Channel 4's Unreported World. Her first book, Sex Robots & Vegan Meat, was published in 2020 and has been translated into ten languages. Her second book The Price of Life, will be published in March 2024.

 

Ellis Ballard is a musician, comedian, videomaker and artist from Reading. They produce and edit the True Story London podcast and help facilitate True Story London's monthly storytelling workshops.

 

Zeinab Mulla is a Senior Teaching Fellow in Public Health at Imperial College London where she organises the Master of Public Health Programme. She is a Nutritional Epidemiologist and Public Health Nutritionist. She is also two thirds of the way through a Masters in Education and a qualified yoga teacher! In addition to Nutrition and Education Zeinab is really passionate about many things; they include in no particular order equality, diversity and inclusion, science communication, baking and her three kids! Jerusa Brignardello Guerra is a trained Dietitian from the University of Valparaiso, Chile. After some life rock and roll, she is currently in the last year of her doctoral program at Imperial College London. During her thesis she investigated the effect of different dietary patterns on metabolism by the analysis of different metabolites in pee, blood and poo. Now, she collaborates with the Hyper Food project that combines the state of art of artificial intelligence and nutrition to predict food molecules to tackle different diseases. Jerusa is proud of her Latin American Roots and is teaching her daughter about the resilience of the Chilean culture and sharing her passion for food, literature and martial arts.
