New York, NY - On The Edge

  • QED Astoria 29-27 23rd Avenue Astoria, NY, 11105 United States (map)

Join us in NYC at QED Astoria for a night of true, personal stories from the brink. We’re bringing you storytellers who’ve walked the tightrope—between fear and courage, disaster and breakthrough, holding on and letting go. These are the moments when everything teetered on the edge. It’ll be bold, moving, and maybe even a little cathartic. Come laugh, gasp, and feel seen.

Hosted by Tracey Segarra and Gastor Almonte.

Doors at 7 pm. Show starts at 7:30 pm.

STORIES BY:

Courtney Fearrington is a New York-based comedian with a likable personality and quick wit. He has produced and hosted shows such as Somm Like it Hot, a comedic wine tasting, Thug Passion Presents: a live table read of classic Black cinema, and Strong Sets: a comedy show set in the middle of a CrossFit gym. In addition to hosting his own shows, Courtney has been tapped to host at comedy clubs around New York and Washington, DC, and is a regular weekly host and performer at New York Comedy Club. Courtney has also been featured at comedy festivals all over the country and on MTV’s Charlamagne and Friends, HBO’s Pause with Sam Jay, independent short films, and a Boost Mobile ad.

Pamela Toh is a neuroscience graduate student at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Originally from Singapore, they moved to NYC via Honolulu (because the proximity to sun and surf was simply too much to bear) to study how stress impacts metabolism in PTSD. When not hunched over a lab bench, Pamela can be found coveting the latest LEGO sets, losing at board games, or fussing over their plants.

Jon Nelson: Exceptionally lucky father and husband who is beyond grateful for his families love, caring and support. Survivor of the horrors of serious mental illness. My life was saved by the beauty of science and research after participating in a clinical trial to remove the poison from my mind and body. Extremely angry and pissed off about the absurdity and stupidity of the stigma of mental illness. Society is 100% responsible for the undue suffering and death for millions of people. That ignorance throws gasoline on a fire. It’s absurd and I will fight to pulverize the stigma of mental illness until my last breath.
