Sarah Berryman-Shaw

The Professional Internship for PhD Students (PIPS), University of Leeds

Sarah is a PhD student at the University of Leeds, where their research explores the behavioural and mechanistic effects of environmental stressors on insects. Their work investigates how climate change and pesticide exposure affect various insect species, with a particular focus on honeybees and ants. Through her research, she aims to better understand how these important insects respond to environmental change and the potential consequences for their survival, resilience, and ecological roles.
Outside of academia, Sarah enjoys baking, reading, and indulging in her ever-growing collection of teas. Whether experimenting with a new recipe, getting lost in a good book, or discovering a new tea to add to her collection, she enjoys the little things that bring calmness to her crazy research life
